Central Services Charity Foundation is a non profit 501(c)(3) corporation serving the NW Missouri area since 2008. Our mission is to provide secure transitional housing for disadvantaged and displaced families. Only in the home can a family be at peace and make a life. There are many elements of a real, secure home; clean, private, a place where families can thrive. All of these elements are needed for healthy growth and natural development. Too many times families are disrupted for reasons beyond their control. Any interruption can also start a personal avalanche that must be weathered and then the return back to what was already a hard climb. We have seen the stress on families as they contend with these hurdles and the effects such stress can produce on each and every member. We see the stress on families continue who have overcome the problem, yet now face an inability to be credit worthy enough to buy or even rent a home. This stress in turn affects the extended family and then society at large. Without security in a home, no member can be at their best or brightest. Helping stabilize them as much as possible is at the center of our mission.

Charity Thrift Store
Located at 3624 Mitchell St Joseph, MO
St Joseph’s newest and most interesting Thrift Store. We keep our prices low to support our community. Clothes, shoes, books, records, household items, electronics, and sports equipment, we have it. Funding for the transitional homes, the initial cost outlays to make them habitable, and the majority of the upkeep comes from your personal donation of gently used clothes and items resold in our Charity Thrift Stores.
The USA Micro Credit pilot program
We have seen the Grameen Bank model of micro credit which has reversed conventional banking wisdom in the third world. Our vision for the US version is similar in basics only, focusing on women business borrowers; dispensing with the requirement of collateral and extending loans only to the very poorest borrowers, these loans will be for cost only and paid back without interest or fees and made on the basis of business plan. This fund has yet to be funded and we are working hard to bring the service to the area.
Community Support Not all charities do true community support, they instead follow their mission.
At Central Services, we open our store to the homeless, those who lost their possessions in a fire,
and those reentering society from the penal system. One common thread of our donors is that they want us to directly help those who need it. We do not worry about vouchers or paperwork as we are doing what our donors want.
Central Services Charity is a mix of experts in both the charity thrift store and housing renewal businesses, led by a CEO who is determined to meet the needs we have identified, with the strongest commitment to our communities.
We specialize in smaller towns and rural areas where shelters are few and far between. We are strictly a local charity, and will support the community where we live.
We are focusing on the new St. Joseph thrift store. We need donations to fill our new store and to fund our mission. We are happy to pick them up for you.
